The acoustical design of the Jo-Ral mutes creates the most exciting tonal qualities, resulting in near-perfect intonation. Jo-Ral mutes are made of spun aluminum, and have been tested to preform evenly in all registers. Many models are also available with brass bottoms, offering a slightly warmer sound and copper bottoms with an even darker, rich sound.

For 30 years, Jo-Ral founder Joe Alessi has designed premium-quality mutes, refining Jo-Ral products to provide ever-greater levels of acoustical and tonal performance. Jo-Ral Trumpet Mutes
Jo-Ral Trumpet straight mutes are a favorite of Trumpet players at every level and in any discipline, from jazz players to symphonic musicians. These free-blowing mutes provide excellent intonation and are available in a range of materials to achieve varied and distinctive sounds. In addition to out unique cork pads, Jo-Ral straight mutes feature a felt cap that prevents scratching the instrument. Made of the highest quality hand-spun aluminum, Jo-Ral mutes are designed and tested to perform evenly in all registers. Alternative materials used on the bottom of the mute create varying sound characteristics for special effect, giving musicians the freedom of artistic expression. With its unique shape, this all-aluminum cup mute produces a smoother, richer sound for tenor trombones. Lined with a neoprene rubber rim that eliminates vibrations, the adjustable cup will never loosen or drop off. It is easily installed by simply moving the cup up to the desired length for a tight fit. The corks may be reshaped for optimal acoustical placement.

The Brass Short Cut is an innovative accessory for trumpet or tenor trombone. Created by Jo-Ral to improve and build the embouchure and lip, it allows the musician to warm-up without using the instrument. Convenient and compact, the shortcut is only 5.5" long, including the ventura, and comes with full instruction manual and warm-up exercises.
